Week 5 was pretty amazing. We were able to get a lot moved PLUS the weather was PERFECT! The high was about 82 degrees and was accompanied with a wonderful breeze, as well. So let me give ya the run down of this past week.
We were able to really get serious about moving and getting all the boxes in one place to help loading be that much easier. As the boxes started accumulating in the living room, Bindi started playing Queen of the Mountain. I honestly think she felt the boxes were her own personal cat tree.
This trip we were able to move all of the canning jars, equipment and food to the homestead. Let me tell ya, I had no idea how much canning related items I had until we started loading those shelves! It really is a blessing and a curse. I am going to have to go through all of this just to figure out what I have and where it all ended up. Thanks to a visit from Tomithy’s Aunt and Uncle and Cousin, we were able to move all of this plus a bunch of stuff that went into the house. I feel like I am in a never ending cycle of pack and unpack….repeat!
After the company went home, Tomithy and Stoney decided to do some evening fishing. I really think Stoney was just so excited to have a fishing buddy! We are usually so busy with the “hurry up and get things done” for the move, Stoney usually fishes alone. I was really happy that we were able to enjoy some time down at the pond as a family.
Tomithy even caught one! And a pretty decent sized one, at that!
The next day we set up the burn barrel and started the trash burning marathon. We aren’t exactly sure where the barrel will stay. But for now, we decided to place it by the already existing fire pit.
Another weekend over. Lots of visiting, working and even some R and R! This week coming up is going to be a DOOZIE! It is the BIG MOVE! We are praying for perfect weather and lots of happy helpers.
