6.5 Oz. Peeled and Cooked Chestnuts
I had received pears in a produce box from the produce co-op that we are members of. We don’t usually eat pears but when we get them I find it to be a challenge on how to prepare them. I thought about it for a couple of days and decided to use them with pork. Here is how I made my Pork with Spiced Pear Chutney.
Let me talk about these chestnuts first. Tomithy bought these at Trader Joe’s and I had no idea what I was going to do with them. They are nice and convenient in the sense that I don’t have to cook or peel them. I just opened the package up and chopped them up.
I first took the pork and placed it in the crock pot with 1 cup of water.
Now I take the rest of the ingredients in the list and mix them all together. Everything goes into the bowl so the spices can coat all the ingredients.
Pour the chutney over the pork and cover. Cook on high for 6-8 hours, depending on the thickness of the pork.
After the pork is cooked, place the pork on a plate and serve with the chutney on top.
The pork is so tender it will want to fall apart. Be sure to remove it with care.
