Brussels Sprouts

Ingredient List

2 C Brussels Sprouts

4 Strips of Bacon, chopped

2 Tb. REAL Butter

Salt and Pepper to taste

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Brussels Sprouts. Not only are they yummy to eat but they are also packed full of vitamin C and K. They are a great source of folate, manganese and potassium. This side dish is so easy to make and will not disappoint!

First you will need to cook your chopped bacon.

Remove your bacon from the pan and drain on a paper towel. DO NOT DUMP THE GREASE OUT! You will need 1 TABLESPOON of the bacon fat.

I use a different pan for this part. It really doesn’t matter what type. I take the 1 tablespoon of bacon fat and 2 tablespoons of butter and melt it in pan.

Once the butter is melted, throw your sprouts into the pan. Roll them around so they are coated on all sides. Cover and cook over medium heat giving them a stir every 5 minutes or so.

Once the sprouts are tender, usually after about 10-15 minutes, throw your bacon back in to heat it up real fast. Stir everything around and serve. Salt and pepper to taste. I usually don’t have to add too much salt because the bacon has enough in it. I love this recipe. It is a perfect side for almost any meal. And they are so pretty!
