Samari and I have been cursed with being highly allergic to Poison Ivy. I am always looking for treatments that contain less chemicals and still work well with treating different ailments. This mixture works very well to treat the Poison Ivy Rash. I highly suggest giving this recipe a try!
UPDATE- If you have sensitive skin, the suggested amount to leave on the skin is for no longer than 15 minutes at a time. The vinegar and clay combination can cause irritation. This is not the type of poison ivy cream you would leave on the skin all day. I will be working on a recipe for more sensitive skin.
It is really a basic recipe and super easy to make. Take your clay and apple cider vinegar and mix them together in a glass bowl. The mixture will fizz and bubble a bit. That is fine! Once the mixture becomes stable, add in the oils and silver. Give it a really good mix!
Place the mixture in a glass jar and keep in a cool dark place. The clay helps dry out the rash while the peppermint oil relieves the itching. The lavender helps heal up the rash. This stuff isn’t only soothing, but it works fantastic too!
