This soup is perfect for any time of year. It is also a great way to use up the left over ham, too! It is simple and full of flavor! The chowder is also creamy! Here is how I made the chowder!
It starts out pretty basic. You will melt the butter and then saute the onions.
Then add the garlic and flour. You don’t want to burn the flour, just cook the bland taste out of it and make sure it is a golden toasted color.
Now it is time to add the corn, lovage, potatoes, thyme, milk, water and chicken broth.
Give everything a stir then add the ham. You will want to cook everything on a low-medium heat. Stir regularly and cook until the potatoes are cooked all the way through and your chowder is the right consistency for you.
Salt and Pepper to taste and serve! Try topping it with a good Cheddar Cheese!
