Making Laundry Soap is so easy! It is actually essential for our homestead to make our laundry soap. We have to cut corners without cutting quality. This laundry soap only uses 4 ingredients to make. Here is how I make the laundry soap.
The first thing is to gather your ingredients. I use 1/2 cup of regular Baking Soda, 3/4 cup of Borax, 1 cup of WASHING SODA (not the same as baking soda), and 1 bar of Fels-Naptha.
Next thing you do is bust out your food processor. You can grate the bar of Fels-Naptha with a hand grater if you do not own a food processor. Before I place the bar of soap in the processor, I chunk the soap into smaller pieces so it is easily grated. The smaller the Fels-Naptha, the better. Then add the rest of the ingredients into the food processor and blend until everything is well incorporated.
That is it! That is all you have to do to make laundry soap. Some people also add essential oils to the soap to give it a richer smell. I, personally, don’t feel it needs that. It has a pretty good smell without the extra ingredient. I use hot water in my washer with this laundry soap and all I need is 1 tablespoon of detergent for 1 load of laundry. This soap is easy, cheap, and last a very long time.
