Ingredient List
Cheese 1- 8 Oz. Neufchatel Cheese
1 Orange, Zest and Juice
1/2 Dried Cranberries
1 Heaping TB Powdered Sugar
Cheese 2- 8 OZ Neufchatel Cheese
2 Heaping TB Ranch Dressing Powder
Worcestershire Sauce
1-2 TB Chopped Chives
So I made the Neufchatel Cheese. Now, what do I do with it? I had a lot of fun coming up with different spreads. I knew I wanted to make a sweet spread and a salty spread. I have been dreaming about an orange/cranberry spread. I love the flavor blend of Orange and Cranberries. I think the recipe I developed is perfect. Tangy and sweet. Tomithy and the kiddos like more of a savory flavor for their cracks. So I came up with a Ranch and Chives cheese spread. They are both wonderful. Here is how I made them.
There really isn’t much to making a spread. Basically you just throw everything into the mixer and let it do the work. The Orange Cranberry Spread consisted of Zest from 1 Orange, Juice from 1 Orange, 1/2 Cup of Orange Infused Cranberries, chopped, 8 oz. of Neufchatel Cheese, and 1 heaping tablespoon of Powdered Sugar. Mix it all together.
The Ranch and Chives Spread consisted of 2 heaping tablespoons of Ranch Dressing Powder, 8 oz. Neufchatel Cheese, a dash or two of Worcestershire sauce, and roughly 1-2 tablespoons of Chopped Chives. Again, just throw it all in the mixer and allow the ingredients to get well incorporated.
We really enjoyed these spreads. They are perfect to have on hand for a little snack or they would make a great appetizer. They are thrown together fast and easy.
