Ingredient List
1 C Warm Milk
1/2 C Hot Water
1/4 C Butter
4-5 C Flour
3 Tablespoons Honey or Sugar
1 Tsp. Salt
2 Tablespoons Yeast
These rolls have been made in my family for YEARS! They are prefect for a crowd and they only take 60 minutes to make. Here is how we made the rolls!
First, put your warm milk, water, sugar and yeast in a bowl and stir until almost all the sugar and yeast are dissolved. Then add the salt and the softened butter to the mix and place in a stand mixer’s bowl. Next add 4 cups of flour to the mix and allow the flour to be kneaded with the dough hook attachment. You will want the dough to be nice and stretchy.
Set the dough aside in a greased bowl for 15 minutes so it can rise.
It will become nice a fluffy in 15 minutes.
Now, with greased hands, form the dough into balls and place in a greased baking dish. Allow the rolls to rise for another 15 minutes. Bake for 12 minutes in a 425 degree oven. The rolls should be cooked through and ready to enjoy.
These rolls are fluffy, and wonderful. They make great dinner rolls. And they really are ready to enjoy in 1 hour!!!
So the BONUS with these 60 min. rolls is that they are freezer friendly! I made them the exact same way but after they are formed into rolls, I placed them on a greased cookie sheet and froze them over night. Once they are rock hard and frozen all the way, remove them from the cookie sheet and place in a Ziplock bag back inside the freezer.
When you are ready for some rolls, you can take out the amount you need for the meal and allow them to thaw and rise and then bake them the same. 425 degrees for about 12 minutes. You can have fresh bread every day with no left overs because you are making the exact amount you need.
