Here is another recipe for the pressure cooker. When researching for this recipe I found a bunch of recipes for the Insta Pot. I don’t own one of those so I found it to be a challenge to find a recipe that I could work with. I also found the flavor options to be never ending. I was going to go with several different flavors but I couldn’t agree on just one flavor to fit all of us. So I decided to go plain. You can flavor your oats the way that makes you happy. I will give you the foundation!
First, start by spraying the inside of your pressure cooker with cooking spray. I like the coconut oil from Trader Joe’s.
Pour your water and oats in the pot next. I combine them first and then pour them in. This way the cooking spray has a better chance to staying on the sides of the pot instead of mixed into the oats. (Some of this will happen naturally anyway….)
Close the pressure cooker and turn on the heat. Bring to a high pressure for 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes are up, remove the cooker from the heat and allow to drop pressure naturally.
Give a good stir and flavor the way you enjoy!
Some flavor options we enjoy are-
Brown Sugar and Butter
Cinnamon, Brown Sugar and Butter
Orange Zest with Brown Sugar and Butter
And adding fruit, coconut, or nuts to the oatmeal!
