Puppy Chow

Ingredient List

2 C Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

1 Cup Peanut Butter

1/2 C Butter

2 Tsp. Vanilla

Powdered Sugar (I always have a whole bag on hand)

9 C Chex Cereal

No matter what you call it Puppy Chow or Muddy Buddies, this snake is fantastic. It is one of Stoney’s absolute favorites.

I start with a big pot and start melting the peanut butter, butter and chocolate over low heat. I chose to use a giant pot because this way I can mix all the ingredients together in this pot instead of making a bunch of dishes! Once the ingredients are melted, I turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla.

While the chocolate mixture is melting, I prepare the zipper lock bags. I use at least gallon size bags so the cereal can get coated with the powdered sugar with ease. I start by putting about 1 cup of sugar in each bag.

When the chocolate mixture is melted and the vanilla is stirred in, I add the cereal. I prefer the Corn Chex for this recipe. Very gently, fold the chocolate into the cereal. The bad thing about Chex is they are very delicate so really try and be careful.

Once the cereal is mixed in and covered, separate it out and place it in the zipper lock bags. Seal the bags and start shaking. You may need to add more powdered sugar to the bags. Just eyeball it and use your best judgment. Once the cereal is coated completely with the sugar the snack is ready to eat. You can also store in an air tight container for later enjoyment!
