Smore’s Cupcakes

Ingredient List


1 C Flour

3/4 C Sugar

1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda

1/2 C Butter

1/3 C Water

3 Tb. Cocoa Powder

1 Egg

1/4 C Buttermilk


1/4 C Unsalted Butter, softened

1 1/2 C Powdered Sugar

1/2 Tsp. Vanilla

17 oz. Marshmallow Fluff

3 Graham Crackers, crushed

12 Hershey Kisses

My friend, Kya, wanted to do some hanging out at my place this past week. She had this FANTASTIC IDEA to share a recipe with me that she found when she read the book “It’s Raining Cupcakes”. She thought they looked pretty tasty and wanted to give them a try. They turned out pretty awesome. And not to mention, we got to bake and share some time in the kitchen! Here is how we made the cupcakes!

We first started by mixing the flour, sugar, and baking soda in a bowl and set aside.

In a small sauce pan we melted the butter with the water over low heat.

Then we added the cocoa to the melted butter and turned off the heat and mixed it until it was well incorporated.

We then took a measuring cup and mixed the buttermilk and the egg together.

We combined the egg/buttermilk mixture with the flour mixture in the bowl of a stand mixer.

Then we added the chocolate mixture into the bowl of the stand mixer. Mix the ingredients until they are smooth. (The batter will be very loose)

Put cupcake liners in a muffin tin or grease the muffin tin really well.

Now we took our ice cream scoop and scooped the batter into the muffin tin.

Bake the cupcakes for 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees until the cakes are fully cooked. Allow the cupcakes to cool over night.

Now for the icing we combined the vanilla, powdered sugar, marshmallow fluff and the butter. Combine the mixture until smooth.

Now you can either dip the cupcakes into the mixture or use a spatula to spread the mixture on top.

Now you will take the crushed graham crackers and sprinkle them over the top of the icing.

Then take the unwrapped candy kisses and place them in the center of the cupcakes. After they have all been “Kissed”, place the cupcakes in the fridge to harden the icing. We kept them in the fridge until we were ready to enjoy them.
